Description

Cranleigh STEM is working with an organisation that specialises in the design and manufacture of sensors and systems for the maritime, environmental, defence, and industrial markets.

We are looking for a skilled Electronics Test Engineer to conduct defined electrical/electronic procedures and routines throughout the production process from the component level, through the PCB and chassis assembly stages to the final assembly of finished units.

To be considered you should possess previous experience of assembling and manufacturing products with multi-commodity bills of materials and in particular machined components, printed circuit board assemblies, wiring looms and cable assemblies.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Hours: 37.5, (7.5-hour Days)

Key Responsibilities:

  • PCBA programming, test and inspection.
  • To highlight and drive the resolution of specification or design non-conformances through to Engineering.
  • Optical inspection.
  • Servicing, fault diagnosis and repair of returned items.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings for assembly instruction and following standard operating procedures, control plans and PFMEA’s where applicable.
  • Transacting labour movements within a work order on the companies MRP system, booking direct and indirect labour utilization and quantity completed at each operations level.
  • To identify and resolve fault diagnosis issues, where possible, by adjustment or repairs.
  • Completing working order operations to delivery time and date specified on the work order.
  • Ensuring compliance with QHSE/ISO standards.
  • To provide assistance and support to the Production Team Lead and other Test Engineers/Technicians on an ad hoc basis to complete specific activities.
  • Participating in ongoing continuous improvement systems.
  • Maintaining a 5S workstation and work environment.
  • Working closely with the Engineering Department for assembling prototypes and advising on manufacturing issues and manufacturing engineering/value engineering improvement opportunities.

Experience & Requirements

  • Previous experience of assembling and manufacturing products with multi-commodity bills of materials including, machined components, printed circuit board assemblies, wiring looms and cable assemblies.
  • HNC Electronics or equivalent qualification in an electronic discipline
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data, engineering drawings, circuit diagrams, and assembly drawings.
  • Proven track record of diagnostic fault finding down to component level
  • Competent in the use of various testing tools, Scopes, DVM’s, Power Supplies, and Timer Counter.
  • Soldering skills.
  • Carry out tests and inspections of PCBs and instrumentation to set procedures.
  • Adhere to Company policies and procedures, including ESD and quality standards.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Word.

Security clearance will be applied for on appointment – UK passport holders required (no dual nationals) plus proof of residency in the UK for the last 5 years.
