Description

Cranleigh STEM has partnered with a globally renowned chemical development business based in Berkshire who are currently recruiting for a Pricing Specialist to join its commercial team on a permanent basis. The Pricing Specialist will support Sales and Marketing in regional pricing strategies and margin optimisation. The successful candidate will manage the pricing system to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, and champion Value-Based Pricing (VBP) within the region.

Pricing Specialist responsibilities

  • Develop tools to identify margin improvement opportunities.
  • Provide pricing and revenue analysis to support commercial decisions and revenue growth.
  • Act as a pricing consultant to Marketing Managers, advising on best practices.
  • Work with Marketing to understand product/customer segmentation and identify key value drivers.
  • Track business metrics to refine pricing and support margin optimisation.
  • Implement necessary price changes and support Sales in optimising deals during quotations.
  • Review and maintain pricing structures.
  • Manage the regional Price Approval process, ensuring compliance with governance and controls.
  • Monitor profitability exceptions and reduce margin leakage.
  • Approve pricing within Sarbanes-Oxley (SoX) guidelines.
  • Oversee the Price Approval system, ensuring data accuracy in SAP.

Pricing Specialist requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, Applied/Physical Science, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in pricing, business, finance, or similar analytical roles in a B2B environment.
  • Candidates with a technical background and commercial experience are welcome.
  • Strong understanding of pricing principles, profitability impact, and market strategy.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; Power BI experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
