Description
A globally renowned environmental testing organisation is currently recruitment for a Project Manager to join its team based in Bedford on a permanent basis. In this role, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of projects, coordinating sampling and logistics, managing subcontractors, tracking work in progress (WIP), and ensuring timely and accurate reporting. As each project framework is bespoke, your ability to adapt and handle varying client needs will be critical to success.
Project Manager responsibilities
- Oversee a portfolio of projects, including the creation and management of timelines, budgets, and KPIs, ensuring all project documentation is up-to-date and organized.
- Drive a consistent and integrated Customer Experience (CX), acting as the main point of contact for clients and ensuring their needs are met.
- Lead client meetings, communicating effectively to align on project goals and resolve any issues.
- Manage sampling schedules, logistics, and subcontractor activities, ensuring samples are processed correctly and on time.
- Ensure timely issuance of reports and follow up on client queries promptly.
- Implement effective change control processes, recording and managing actions to ensure timely completion.
- Collaborate with Laboratory Teams to facilitate smooth project delivery and resolve any operational challenges.
- Track and report on KPIs, ensuring projects meet agreed-upon metrics and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
Project Manager requirements
- Extensive experience in project management within a laboratory or science-related field, with a proven track record of successful project delivery. A current Laboratory Manager wanting to progress into a project management career route is also encouraged to apply.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in guiding technical teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent decision-making skills, with the ability to act confidently based on available data.
- Proficiency in managing large datasets using Excel and other database tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to perform well under pressure.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Previous experience working in a laboratory setting and familiarity with LIMS software is highly desirable.
