Description

Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated and experienced scientist with expertise in molecular biology techniques, such as PCR/qPCR, and the extraction, quantification, and analysis of genetic material. This role provides an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in molecular biology to contribute to projects that support the development of diagnostic assays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform DNA/RNA extractions
  • Execute and validate qPCR and NGS assays
  • Manage biobank and clinical sample storage
  • Prepare buffer solutions
  • Ensure the quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness of project deliverables, providing regular updates
  • Contribute to collaborative projects with external partners
  • Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and scientific reports
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure cleanliness
  • Handle and process human samples

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential:

  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated individual
  • BSc/MSc in Genetics, Epigenetics, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of scientific research experience
  • Strong understanding of molecular biology techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping
  • Ability to critically evaluate data, with a focus on quality and reproducibility
  • Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience working with clinical samples
  • Familiarity with next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation
  • Expertise in epigenetics assay development
  • Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., Good Clinical Practice, ISO 13485, or other GxP standards)
  • Proven ability to write papers and scientific reports
