A leading pesticide business based in Farnham is currently recruiting for a Technical Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. Due to growth, the company has identified the need for a well-connected Technical Manager to spearhead their innovation, development and regulatory activities – relating to cutting-edge pest control solutions. This dynamic role entails leading product development, providing technical support, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Technical Manager responsibilities
- Lead the development of pesticide formulations, from concept to market launch.
- Manage formulation and efficacy testing to meet performance, safety, and environmental benchmarks.
- Drive the creation of sustainable pest control solutions with reduced environmental impact.
- Work closely with chemists and biologists to optimise product performance.
- Identify new opportunities and trends, collaborating with R&D teams and external research partners.
- Analyse trial results and customer feedback to refine formulations.
- Provide technical guidance to customers, distributors, and sales teams on product application and safety.
- Serve as a liaison between technical, sales, regulatory, and marketing teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Travel to international events when required.
Technical Manager requirements
- Degree level qualified in Chemistry or closely related field of study.
- Pesticide industry experience is highly advantageous. However, this role will also suit a talented Technical Manager from the industrial chemical industry.
- Proven record of managing product development or technical projects from inception to commercialisation.
- Experience leading technical teams and driving cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong leadership experience – managing cross-functional teams including regulatory, formulation, quality and trials.
- A strong understanding of industry regulations – biocides, chemicals or pesticides.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in presenting technical data clearly to diverse audiences.
- Effective collaboration across departments and with external stakeholders.
